4 Simple Looks to Get You Through the Holidays

My trick is to always buy pieces you can mix and match other articles of clothing to add some color or adapt to certain occasions.

I only make additions to my closet when an article of clothing is of good quality, timeless, and affordable. When I do feel like splurging, I'll hit up some thrift shops to happily pocket some non gut wrenching steals. However, this also means when a busy season like the holidays come rolling around, I'm stuck with the same closet I've had for years! My trick is to always buy pieces you can mix and match other articles of clothing to add some color or adapt to certain occasions. I've put together four timeless looks that you can make with what you have in your closet and add your own flare to it.

1. Semi-Casual Look with Flats: Got a nice work blouse? Match it with some black flare pants and a pair of fun patterned flats. I went with darker greens and navy blues for this holiday season.

2. Comfy Look with Loafers: Match a slouchy sweater with wide leg pants for extra comfort (I like to buy my sweaters one size bigger for a slight off the shoulder look). Swap out the classic black or brown loafers for a bright, gold pair of loafers to add a more festive look.

3. Formal Look with Heels: Someone once told me every woman should have a black dress in their closet. I'm not really a dress kind of gal, so my go-to is always a jumpsuit! I found this Zara jumpsuit for less than $15 and I've been Tiffany Haddish-ing it and wearing it on multiple occasions for years. Matched with some red pumps, it's a great outfit for a night out or holiday parties year round!

4. Casual Look with Sneakers: You can never go wrong with a cashmere sweater and black jeans combination. The leather jacket and sneaker combo has always been a comfortable go to for me, as well. Add a bit of color with a scarf and beanie!
