My Very First Pair of Wedges, Ever!
August 21, 2018
Due to high demand, Gekks for Heels were launched in early 2018. I knew the time would come where I’d have to do a Gekks Shoe Trials for a pair of Heels & Wedges. In all of my life, I think I’ve owned two pairs of heels one of which I “borrowed” from a friend and never returned. So this shoe trial was very memorable to say the least. I paired my Gekks with a Tibby Blue Wedge Pump from the Journee Collection from DSW. The wedge height was 4 1/2” inches so walking in it was alright and I didn’t look too much like a baby antelope stumbling on the sidewalks. Pros and cons about these shoes:
- Super cute to dress up or down outfits with
- Easy to walk in and adjust straps for the height
- No stinky or sweat feet with Gekks in them after work days
- They weren't comfortable to walk in after an hour (at least for my right foot)
- Gets dirty easily due to faux suede material
Overall, I’d have to say I was a little disappointed that my first wedge experience with Gekks Shoe Trials didn’t turn out to be as magical as I thought it would be. I was hoping it would change my opinions on casually wearing heels to the office...but I definitely wouldn’t order these again for the sake of my comfort. I am now a fan of Gekks for Heels, though. Until the next shoe trials for heels & wedges, I am sticking to shoes with a 0 inch heel height.
